In this situation, maybe PowerPoint may simply be the wrong tool for the job. They seem to be using a blunt hammer when scalpel is required.

Yet another article on the dangers of PowerPoint. Here's the thing, why do we judge the tool? I can see why some want to blame PowerPoint for dumbing down of information, but really, isn't PowerPoint just a tool? It's like blaming the typewriter for a horribly written novel.
